Gottfried Helnwein Image Cont.

I mentioned in my first interpretation of this image that from where the man look suspended on the girl's face and how he looked like he was climbing a wall, that this could be a large painting on the side of the building or something. As it turns out, this was a work that was installed on a wall in Ireland. Helwein's image is a large, blown up picture of a girl on the side of what looks like a wall or other structure near the water. At the bottom of image three, you can see a car and people down by the car. The girl's picture takes up the entire space on the wall spare a little bit on the top, as seen in image two. The image was most likely printed or painted onto something sturdy before posted onto the wall. To mount it on the wall, the image was most likely spliced together though you can't tell where the parts meet up. The image looks like it is in an industrial area close to the water, hence the name Waterford. The people who would most likely see this image would be the workers around the area or perhaps people on barges or boats. The expression on the girl's face is pretty blank, maybe even a little frightened or lost. If this is a building on the edge of a water way, the title, "The Last Girl" could mean the last you see as you're leaving the city, or something like that.
