Spring Break

Image
My spring break was kind of choppy, like the waves at St. Augustine— there was a lot of driving back and forth and a lot of time spent in the car; we’re also thinking of moving so a lot of going back and forth between houses

Reflection Questions: Cubism Project

1. I knew I wanted to use flowers for this project because I felt that I could make the final product seem the most interesting. However, I don't think I compiled it the best that I could. I could have added more to it in the end. 2. For this project, I took about 35 photos. 3. During this project I had a hard time compiling the image together because I wasn't sure where to place the other images I took without it looking too weird. I didn't think it would look that great at first with a lot of images, but looking back on it and looking at the other projects, I think I could have made it work. 4. If I had to do this project over again, I would probably compile more photos into the final product to give it an more pronounced effect. I wouldn't necessarily make it so the image would be distorted, but I think it would be more interesting if there were more images.

The Importance of Art

The statement that tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school, and that public school should be about training young people to enter the workforce, is a ridiculous statement, and it is by far incorrect. Tax dollars that are spent on the arts programs are technically not wasted, because for some people, the arts are what they want to pursue as a career, rather than an office job, or other standard occupations. Yes, it may not be a traditional, standard, job, but it is what the kid wants to do and it should be respected. It's up to the child on what they want to do for a career for the rest of their life, so it shouldn't be the schools who restrict the kids on what they really want to do. It shouldn't be of one person's negative opinion of the arts to prevent children from carrying on into a career of their desire. If people really wanted high school to be a place to train children to enter the workforce, then tax dollars should...

Love Concept

Image
This picture sort of represents the initial flame of a relationship, as the candle is just beginning to light and grow into a bigger flame. This image represents how the other person in the relationship can the light in the darkest of times, since the picture is basically pitch black except for the glowing lantern in the middle.  Index Prints

Photoshop Tutorial Quest

Image
I like how this image turned out a lot and think it looks a lot like a sketch, although that wasn’t really the complete tutorial. The tutorial I was following went beyond the steps that I completed, where it filled in the negative space with color to make it look more like a painting or a drawing. I didn’t really like how it turned out when I tried to follow the rest of the steps to color it, so I just chose to go back to the black and white image because I believed it looked better.  https://www.techradar.com/how-to/how-to-turn-photos-into-drawings-using-photoshop I liked how this image turned out at first and then looking back on it, I don't really like it that much. The tutorial itself was much simpler to follow than the pencil illustration above, though it had a lot more steps. This tutorial was supposed to look like a vintage photo and I think it sort of reflects that, but the image that was used in the tutorial was a picture of a family, and I think people as t...

1st Semester Reflection

I.      I feel like the quality of my work has been relatively neat and well composed, and has improved as I have grown more comfortable with Photoshop. When it comes to shooting assignments, I think I could be a little more creative and put more effort into how I shoot my photos and what I take pictures of. For example, I think I could experiment more with angles and lighting to make my projects better. I have participated in this class and have completed every assignment on time, and only after I've finished an assignment I move onto something else. I think I could improve upon the way I shoot my photos, as stated before, I think I could play around with lighting and camera angle, and other things along that line. I have used Photoshop prior to this class but it had been a long while so I feel that I caught onto how to use Photoshop fairly quickly once I was refreshed on the basics and I think my work shows how I have become more comfortable with the program.   ...
